The potential returns of Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Micky McIlorum are a step closer after the pair were named in Hull KR’s 21-man squad to face Leeds Rhinos.

Neither have featured since the Challenge Cup Final, with Waerea-Hargreaves playing through with a calf injury and Micky McIlorum making a somewhat miraculous recovery to play despite only being seven weeks out from a ruptured bicep.

Neither have played since that day almost a month ago but both come into contention on Sunday as Willie Peters gets closer to having a fully fit squad. Only Oliver Gildart and James Batchelor are unavailable at present.

The two to drop out are Eribe Doro, who has returned to Bradford Bulls for another short-term loan spell, and Leon Ruan, who makes way.

There’s been two changes to last week’s squad, with Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Michael McIlorum both named and in contention to return.

They take on a Leeds Rhinos side unchanged from last week’s win over Leeds Rhinos. Maika Sivo and Morgan Gannon are the only two absentees as Brad Arthur also boasts a healthy squad.

Hull KR 21-man squad: Tom Davies, Peta Hiku, Joe Burgess, Mikey Lewis, Tyrone May, Sauaso Sue, Jez Litten, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Dean Hadley, Elliot Minchella, Michael McIlorum, Sam Luckley, Jai Whitbread, Rhyse Martin, Jack Broadbent, Kelepi Tanginoa, Jack Brown, Bill Leyland, Harvey Horne, Arthur Mourgue, Noah Booth.
