Hull KR’s current squad of stars are on the verge of breaking more club history, just weeks after ending their trophy hoodoo with a Challenge Cup Final victory at Wembley.

Willie Peters’ Rovers take on Wakefield Trinity in Round 16 – and if they can secure the victory at Sewell Group Craven Park, it will mark the club’s best-ever start to a season, surpassing the benchmark set by the 1966/67 team.

In Super League, Hull KR have won 14 of their 15 matches to sit at the top of the table, holding a four-point lead over reigning champions Wigan Warriors. They also boast a superior points difference, as things stand.

Victory this week would be another significant milestone for the club, fuelling talk of a potential treble following their historic triumph in the capital earlier this month against Warrington Wolves.

Hull KR are firmly in control of their own destiny in the race for the League Leaders’ Shield, closing in on 12 months unbeaten against every Super League side – except Matt Peet’s Wigan.

The two sides will meet again in the game’s newest rivalry later in August, while the Cherry and Whites claimed a 28-12 win earlier in April in Hull KR’s only defeat this season to date.

Meanwhile, only five teams in Super League history have won at least 14 of their first 15 games; Bradford in 1997, Wigan in 1998, St Helens 2006, St Helens 2019 and Catalans 2021.

Hull KR and Wakefield Trinity go head-to-head this Friday, June 27, at Sewell Group Craven Park, with an 8:00pm kick-off.
