It’s been 47 days, but Hull FC are finally back at home this Friday night, hosting Castleford Tigers at the MKM Stadium in round 14 of Super League – exactly the halfway point in the 2025 competition.

To say it’s been a satisfactory first half of the season for Hull is more than a fair assessment. As it stands, entering another weekend, the Black and Whites are well poised in the table, currently sitting fifth with a chance to go fourth should they get past the Fords tonight. That wouldn’t be a bad feat, especially for a side tipped to do little this year and one in the midst of a long-term rebuild.

On that note, Hull know where they are at – and they know they can’t afford to drop below recent standards if they want to taste victory again. They need another disciplined and composed account to get the job done here. They’re missing some big players – none more so than John Asiata – but there’s enough quality still in the side, given the right attitude and application, to make it three wins on the bounce.

After wins at Leigh and Catalans, a hat-trick would be most welcome indeed, but Castleford have new faces mid-season and are improving under Danny McGuire. They will no doubt prove to be plucky opposition in a fixture that usually delivers some firm entertainment. And with that in mind, we’ll be there every step of the way, with team news, build-up, live action, and post-match reaction to come as always. Stay tuned.
