Hull City are in talks with three potential candidates to join Sergej Jakirovic’s coaching staff with the club keen to add more domestic experience to their ranks.
Championship outfit City moved a step closer to appointing the Bosnian on Thursday after he was granted a work permit by the government, and the FA approved the move.
Providing City can finally come to an agreement with Keyserspor over the financial terms of his departure, Jakirovic could be officially confirmed as the club’s new head coach early next week and then meet the media the week after before he gets ready to begin pre-season training.
Jakirovic is expected to be joined by three of his most trusted aides in Marko Salatovic (assistant), Marin Ivancic (fitness) and Andjelo Roguljic (analysis), but talks are ongoing about bringing in somebody with vast experience of working in English football.
Hull Live understands three candidates have been sounded out by sporting director Jared Dublin and are understood to be keen on linking up with City. Jakirovic will have the final say on who comes in to join the new-look coaching setup after speaking to all three men.
Club legend Andy Dawson, who has been part of Tim Walter and Ruben Selles’ coaching setup, is expected to remain at the MKM Stadium, while goalkeeping coach Erbil Bozkurt will continue in the role he took over 12 months ago following the departure of Barry Richardson. Incidentally, Richardson recently returned to Doncaster Rovers, where he linked up with Grant McCann and Cliff Byrne.
