Customers who visit one of Britain’s most beloved bakery chains before 11am can enjoy a hot breakfast sandwich without any effort whatsoever. Now, the popular Greggs offer is set to become even more appealing, especially to McDonald’s fans.
For quite some time, the morning meal deal has traditionally been a sandwich and drink combination, but fans can now add an additional item to complete their opening meal of the day. This enhanced choice will debut in selected Greggs outlets today (July 25).
In the most recent menu overhaul, Greggs has announced that patrons now have an extra element to contemplate when collecting their breakfast on the go. Complementing the existing offer, people can now “seriously upgrade” their meal, according to Greggs.
A spokesperson explained: “In addition to the well-known and much-loved Breakfast Roll Deal and Breakfast Baguette Deal (featuring a tasty breakfast roll or baguette with a Fairtrade hot drink, OJ, or water), customers now have the option to add a side as Greggs has launched a three-part breakfast deal for the first time ever.
“The new deal gives customers the chance to add a delicious side of either a fresh fruit pot, creamy yoghurt or golden hash browns to their signature roll or baguette deal from just £3.95 for a roll or £5.10 for a baguette deal.”

Nothing has ever stopped fans from grabbing a cheeky hash brown or side to their breakfasts before now. But, this deal just offers it at a price that rivals other fast food breakfast providers. Greggs’ hash browns are offered up in pairs, reports the Mirror, meaning the deal is already great value compared to the one item that you get with McDonald’s.
The popular bakery chain provides two varieties of fruit pots – melon and grape or strawberry and apple. A third side option features a rich Greek-style yoghurt layered over a fruity strawberry compote.
The announcement came as part of an update to Greggs’ summer menu, which introduced a variety of new sandwiches. Among these is the Chipotle Chicken Flatbread, packed with spicy chicken, chipotle chilli sauce, fresh salad leaves, mixed peppers, and spicy mayonnaise, offering a flavourful and convenient lunch option.

Another addition to the menu is the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Oval Bite. This sandwich is filled with slices of spicy chicken breast, pineapple chilli sauce, sliced mild Cheddar chilli cheese, crispy onions, spicy mayo and mixed leaves in a seeded roll.
Also on offer, either hot or cold, is the Chipotle Chicken Baguette. This sandwich is loaded with spicy chicken breast, Cheddar cheese with chilli, sliced red onion, fiery jalapeños, chipotle chilli sauce and spicy mayo.
Starting today, the breakfast deal is available nationwide in selected Greggs stores. Before 11am, the breakfast deal can also be accessed via Click and Collect on the free-to-download Greggs App, which offers a range of tasty rewards.
