TransPennine Express has confirmed the toilets in Hull Station have now reopened after a blockage caused closure.

Yesterday evening (July 23) both TransPennine Express and Hull Trains announced that all toilets at Hull Station were out of order. The operators both apologised for any inconvenience this caused their passengers.

In the minutes after this announcement was made, the local MP, Dame Diana Johnson (Labour – Hull North and Cottingham), whose constituency the station falls within, took to social media to say: “This would be inconceivable and simply not tolerated at the London end of the rail route to Hull.”

This morning Hull Live approached TransPennine Express, the station operator, to establish if the toilets had reopened and to seek information on the issue that led to the closure. A spokesperson from the operator confirmed that the toilets had reopened in the morning of June 24 after being shut the previous night due to a blockage.
