Hull City expect to find out the outcome of their appeal to the EFL by the end of this month with a hearing scheduled to take place to determine what happens next.

City were hit with a three-window fee restriction by the EFL earlier this month and so far, have been unable to strengthen their squad aside from the free transfer arrivals of Semi Ajayi and Dillon Phillips.

Their current plight also means they’re unlikely to be able to register Gustavo Puerta and Reda Laalaoui and risk losing both players under the terms of their current punishment by the authorities.

Despite that, however, Sergej Jakirovic’s side made it two wins in two games after coming from behind to beat Istanbulspor on Tuesday, thanks to goals from Kyle Joseph and teenager Pharrell Brown.

City‘s players will next get their chance to impress their Bosnian boss on Saturday when they tackle Super Lig side Kasimpasa, managed by ex-Tiger Shota Arveladze.

While much attention is currently on City’s battle with the EFL and the outcome of that appeal, the club remain hopeful of adding free transfers and loan signings to their squad, and remain in talks with Westerlo over a short-term move for striker Matija Frigan.

It’s hoped the club can get that deal over the line in the near future and at least bring some relief to Jakirovic’s squad ahead of next Saturday’s first domestic public friendly at Stockport County.
