Hull City winger Abu Kamara is attracting interest from a number of clubs as the Tigers must reach a decision on whether to keep hold of the player this summer. As has been previously reported, Kamara has been earmarked for a possible return to former club Portsmouth this summer, with Pompey keen on a return for a player who helped them win promotion from League One to the Championship.

Now there are growing reports north of the border that Rangers under new manager Russell Martin have an interest in Kamara, and have a confidence they can land the player in this transfer window. Talk of a cut price deal that will capitalise on Hull City’s financial woes looks a little off the mark, with City having already conceded as reported weeks ago, that should Kamara be allowed to leave on a permanent deal it would be for less money than the Tigers paid for him.

The 21-year was thrust into the spotlight more last season due to injuries to Liam Millar and Mohamed Belloumi, starting 25 games for the club. The return of Millar and Belloumi in the next few months will give new City manager Sergej Jakirović more options, with the club also looking to strengthen further once the outcome of their appeal against a three-window transfer fee restriction is heard by the EFL and the outcome known.

For now, there’s an understanding City have not made any decision on Kamara’s future, while the player is believed to be happy to stay at the MKM Stadium and has made no representations to leave. Still, other clubs are circling as City wait to hear if a firm offer is tabled.
