Micky McIlorum and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves are back in the Hull KR side for the clash with Leeds Rhinos. The experienced forwards are both back after injury and feature in Willie Peters’ matchday squad today.
After rupturing his bicep, McIlorum goes straight into the starting side, with Jez Litten dropping down to the bench. As for Waerea-Hargreaves, the Kiwi’s return from a calf injury will come from the bench. Dean Hadley retains his starting spot in the middle, with Jai Whitbread continuing in the back-row.
Their returns have seen Jack Brown and Bill Leyland drop out of the team from last week’s win over Wakefield Trinity as Rovers close in on a fully fit side. Oliver Gildart and James Batchelor are the only two senior first-team players currently unavailable.
Rovers will go six points clear at the top of Super League if they win this afternoon but face a Leeds Rhinos side that has impressed this year and will move within two points of second-placed Wigan if they can get a victory today. Former Hull FC man Jake Connor is the man to watch, with the playmaker currently top of the Man of Steel standings.
The rest of the Rovers side is as expected, with Peters continuing to name the players who have performed so well throughout the season.
