East Yorkshire’s longest-running free carnival returns in July having been running since 1967.

Hornsea Carnival has been a mainstay of the town’s calendar for almost 60 years bringing an array of colour and festivities to the local community. The 2025 event will take place between Friday, July 18 and Sunday, July 20 with a launch party on the first evening followed by a weekend of music, entertainment, arts and crafts, food, fireworks and, of course, a parade at Hall Garth Park.

Its history has seen numerous highlights including a spectacular Red Arrows display in 2001.

In the gallery below we look back at the carnival over the years with images found in the Hull Daily Mail archive.
