A much-loved soft play centre in Hull has announced that it has closed its doors for the final time, as gutted parents say it will be sorely missed.
Kinderland Playzone in Banner Court, Priory Park, was 10,000 square feet of indoor play areas for children and babies. It also had a football court, a “mega slide”, and an on-site café.
It was a popular thing to do in Hull on a rainy day, with many customers having fond memories of the giant slide and sweet treats purchased from the café.
Announcing the closure on Facebook, Kinderland said: “All the staff would like to thank every customer who been in to Kinderland over the years. Kinderland has closed the doors for the final time.”
Hundreds of customers left comments, with several saying they were shocked at the news. Many parents said the venue had been a “lifeline” and regretted they would not be able to return.
One person commented; “The food was always delicious, thank you for all your hard work. Glad I got to have my little boys 2nd bday party here last October, it was fabulous. Such a shame you’re closed, hopefully a new venture will follow.”
Someone else said: “Loved taking my children to Kinderland over the years. So sorry to hear this and hope that the staff all get new jobs quickly.”
“This place has been a lifeline for me for the past 6 years,” said a third. “During the pandemic it was the place I missed most! I cannot express enough my gratitude to all the wonderful staff over the years, I am so sad I didn’t get to say a proper goodbye.
“Also will miss the coffee and flapjacks that kept me going through my young-mum days. So many happy memories that will stay in my heart forever. Thank you Kinderland.”
