An 81-year-old cyclist has suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash.

Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a car and the cyclist were involved in a collision on the A165, Scarborough Road in Bridlington yesterday, (Monday, 2 June). The incident, which involved a black Chevrolet Captiva, happened at 12pm at the junction of Grindale Lane.

A spokesperson said: “Emergency services attended and the cyclist, a 81-year-old man, was taken to hospital to receive treatment to injuries which are thought to be life threatening.

“We would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the collision, or has any CCTV or dashcam footage, to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 204 of 2 June.”
