Most recently, it was the return to ranks of a missing soldier that put Hedon in the headlines.

Said soldier was a crocheted Sergeant York, who had mysteriously vanished from his post atop one of the town’s bollards and part of a major VE Day yarn-bomb, courtesy of local stitching students of Louise Marie Crochet. Thankfully the hand-crafted soldier was recovered and returned to duties, delighting locals and visitors to the Market Place.
