Hull FC were defeated 30-14 by Huddersfield Giants on Saturday afternoon. Here are the ratings.
Zak Hardaker – Played at full-back again. Had his moments but couldn’t turn the game for Hull. 5
Harvey Barron – Former Hull man Adam Swift got the better of the winger for the Giants’ first try, but he stood up tall after that. Solid under the high ball and carried strong. Had a try overturned in the second half. 6
Jordan Rapana – Dropped a pass that led to Huddersfield’s third try and left the field after an HIA, not to return. 4
Davy Litten – Provided the pass for all three of his winger’s tries. Some classy moments, even if all in defeat. 7
Lewis Martin – A hat-trick, albeit in vain, took his season tally to 23 tries. Finished well for his first and second, and his third was outstanding. A shame it counted for little, but the 20-year-old can hold his head up. 9
Jack Charles – Didn’t have the impact of last week. 5
Aidan Sezer – Some moments in attack. Probably anticipating John Asiata’s expected return next time out as much as anyone. 6
Herman Ese’ese – Some strong carries but also restricted by Huddersfield, who made sure Hull couldn’t get any rhythm. 5
Cade Cust – Used at hooker again but, unlike last week, couldn’t get Hull going. 4
Liam Knight – A good first stint despite the scoreline. Strong carries and played the middle ball link role. His second spell wasn’t as effective. 5
Jed Cartwright – Left the field for an HIA early in the first half, with the back rower passing and soon coming back on. Starved of any ball in space. 4
Jack Ashworth – Some strong runs and made a second-half break. 6
Yusuf Aydin – Played the full first half and only came off late in the second. Huge effort. 6
Tom Briscoe – Came on briefly in the first half as Cartwright went off for an HIA. That saw a backline reshuffle. Then entered again after Rapana’s HIA. 5
Amir Bourouh – Struggled when he came on as Hull chased the game. 4
Sam Eseh – Tried to bring an impact with the game slipping away. 5
Liam Watts – Made his first appearance in four months. Did okay. All about minutes, and hopefully will stay fit now for the rest of the year. 5
