Hull City will conclude their pre-season preparations with a game at the MKM Stadium against Spanish opponents Getafe. The La Liga outfit will take on the Tigers on Saturday, August 2, with the game kicking off slightly later than normal at 4pm.

The match will represent the last chance for Sergej Jakirovic to assess his players in a match situation and for the squad to impress before the team get their Championship campaign underway a week later away at Coventry City. The game will come four days after City play their only other home game of pre-season when Sunderland come to town for another good test of the Tigers’ credentials.

Having played effectively two training ground games while in Turkey and a behind closed doors match at their Cottingham training ground before heading abroad, City play their first ‘proper’ pre-season game on English soil this Saturday when taking on Stockport County at Edgeley Park.

Getafe will provide an entertaining test for the Tigers. One of the Spanish top-flight’s smaller clubs, the team from the Madrid community area are clearly overshadowed by their two far more famous rivals in Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, but have managed to establish themselves in La Liga.
