A Hull mum has appealed for help in tracing pieces of jewellery that were taken during an alleged burglary at her home.
Wedding and engagement rings, a “Mum” pendant and chain, earrings and bracelets are among the items that the North Hull owner says went missing while she was out at the doctor’s with one of her children, on Thursday, July 17. She reported the theft to police but hopes that by sharing pictures, people might recognise the items and she will get them back.
The mum-of-four, who is 27 weeks’ pregnant with her fifth child and also cares for another child, said: “It’s not what the jewellery costs, it’s what it means to me.
“It’s the sentimental value. There is my wedding ring and engagement ring – I got engaged last year and was only married in January – and my bracelets were from my kids when I was in hospital and was told I only had 18 months to live.
“The chain with ‘Mum’ on it was another present. I keep breaking out crying and I can’t sleep properly since it happened.”

The woman, who asked not to be named, said she had been “round every pawn shop in Hull”, thinking the jewellery may have been pawned. “I’ve been all over, I’ve tried everywhere, I’m desperate to find them,” she said.
“The police are investigating. I’ve given them all the information I can.”
The mum, who was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer and a brain tumour, said her wedding and engagement rings were among the most precious of the missing items. “I didn’t have them on because my fingers swell up; they were in a drawer.”
She said: “I just thought, if anyone comes across any of the jewellery that they might contact the Hull Daily Mail or the police.” A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Officers are investigating reports of burglary at an address in Hull on Thursday, 17 July.
“It is reported at around 1.15pm, several high value items of jewellery and money was taken from the property. A 38-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of a class B drug and has since been released on conditional bail whilst enquiries continue.
