The much-anticipated date has been an annual fixture on the region’s social calendar for more than 30 years. Beverley Ladies’ Day returns for 2025 on Wednesday, August 13, and is widely hailed as one of the best in the country.

Racegoers will already be busy planning outfits to stand out from the crowd, as the Most Stylish contest makes a return as part of a full day of entertainment and racing action. For a fourth year, the prestigious event is being presented in association with Porsche Centre Hull.

Beverley Racecourse plays host to Ladies’ Day 2025 on Wednesday, August 13. The event is being presented for a fourth year in conjunction with Porsche Centre Hull.

Where is it held?

Ladies’ Day takes place at the Westwood racecourse, in York Road, Beverley, HU17 8QZ. The historic racecourse, which first opened its gates in 1690, opens its gates to around 10,000 guests every year.

How much do tickets cost?

The Premier Enclosure is already sold out. The lively Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure – the largest of the enclosures – features a great range of bars and eateries, as well as on-course bookmakers and access to the paddock.

Tickets cost £22 each per adult – this price for a disabled visitor includes a free accessibility and companion ticket. The Picnic Enclosure, the grassed area in the centre of the course, also has tickets available at £12 each.

Are children able to attend?

Beverley racecourse strongly advises that under-18s do not attend the Ladies’ Day event. Instead, it suggests checking out one of the other family-friendly racing fixtures.

In the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure, dresses and smart jackets are usually the norm but the code allows for “smart but comfortable” outfits. The dress code in the Picnic Enclosure is the most relaxed part of the day, with T-shirts, shorts and non-offensive fancy dress allowed.

What time is the first race and where can I place a bet?

Gates open on Ladies’ Day at 11.15am, with the first race on this year’s card at 2.15pm. The final race of the day is scheduled to run at 4.45pm.

You can place bets with the Tote or on-course bookmakers, who can be found in all of the enclosures.

Can I visit the Parade Ring?

Anyone in the Premier Enclosure and Grandstand & Paddock can visit the Pre-Parade Ring and the Parade Ring to see the horses up close and have a read of the information boards telling you what to look out for.

What about food and drink?

The exclusive Ladies’ Day Marquee will be returning for 2025, offering a tailored food package, great trackside viewing and private facilities. There is the Attraction Restaurant in the Premier Enclosure, along with the Terrace Perrier Champagne bar; the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure offers a range of refreshment options, with facilities including Cleverly’s Bistro, above the Rapid Lad Bar.

With the Picnic Enclosure, the clue is in the title, enabling you to drive your car close up to the track and enjoy a family picnic while you watch the races, or enjoy a drink and a bite to eat at The Hurn Bar.

What is the Most Stylish competition?

Ladies’ Day transforms Beverley Racecourse into a red carpet runway of style. You can dress to impress the judges and have chance to win the title of Most Stylish Racegoer.

This year’s prizes have yet to be announced but can include anything from pamper packages to VIP tickets to a show. It is the norm for five finalists to be shortlisted for the final judging in the afternoon.

What entertainment is there besides the racing?

Celebrity guests have been known to join the crowds at Ladies’ Day. Musical acts wander the enclosures to entertain at various points during the event.
