Sergej Jakirovic declared himself delighted with the trip to Turkey after his Hull City side secured a 1-0 win over Kasimpasa to round off their visit with successive victories.
Tyrell Sellars-Fleming’s strike midway through the second half was enough to seal victory against Shota Arveladze’s Super Lig outfit, and send the Tigers home on Sunday in good spirits.
The only negative on the trip was losing skipper Lewie Coyle to a hamstring injury in Tuesday’s win over Istanbulspor, while Alfie Jones missed Saturday’s game with a slight knock.
“Yes, it has been a good trip. We did everything here that we planned, except this injury to Lewie Coyle and a little bit for Alfie Jones also, but I’m very satisfied because the boys have worked very hard here,” the Bosnian told Hull Live.
“A lot of things may already have improved in this second game. We have improved some positioning, we stand in the middle block when it’s triggered to jump out, so I’m satisfied with the game because you can see the heavy legs.
“We have heavy legs, but this is normal because this is just the third week of pre-season training, so now, after this game, we have three days off, which is so good to get some rest.
“I’m pleased because they’re trying. I see that they’re trying, they’re following the demands of what we do in training, so this is good and I am convinced that we will continue to get better as we spend more time together.”
On the subject of Coyle, Jakirovic confirmed the skipper had suffered a hamstring injury and while the prognosis is four to six weeks, then head coach believes his right-back could return sooner.
“Lewie, I think, will be out for around one month, one month. This is after the scan he had the other day, but they told me that Louie is always one week less than what they believe, so we will see.”
