Hull City will arrive in Istanbul on Sunday afternoon, ready for a week-long training camp as Sergej Jakirovic continues to prepare for his first season in English football.

City will swap the blistering heat of Cottingham for similar conditions in Riva, with the Tigers set to be put through their paces in what will be a gruelling week at the home of the Turkish FA in temperatures regularly above 33 °C.

Preparations for the upcoming campaign have been less than ideal, with the club’s finances causing plenty of alarm and only heightened by the EFL’s decision to hit City with a three-window transfer ban.

It’s expected the club will find out whether or not their appeal has been successful while they’re out in Turkey, and naturally that will be one of the key discussion points over the next few days.

Joined by a group of supporters as has become the norm under Acun Ilicali’s ownership, those travelling from East Yorkshire will get to see their side in action for the first time under new head coach Sergej Jakirovic, as well as enjoying Istanbul from a city centre hotel.

During the week, City will play friendlies against Istanbulspor and Kasimpasa, while it’s expected that there will be a press conference with owner Acun Ilıcalı.
