This is the incident that caused one of the major flashpoints during Hull KR’s defeat to Leign Leopards. During the closing stages of the game, Jez Litten was sin binned following an off-the-ball incident in which he retaliated to an altercation moments earlier that left him bloodied and eventually unable to pass a head injury assessment.

Litten appeared to be angered by an alleged ‘knee drop’ by Leigh halfback Lachlan Lam, who Litten had tackled after he had intercepted a Rovers attack. Play continued after Lam played the ball but as the Rovers hooker returned to the defensive line he collided with Lam, leaving the playmaker on the floor.

Litten was ultimately yellow carded for his actions in a chaotic passage of play that also left Tom Davies needing treatment after appearing to catch an elbow from Leigh winger Josh Charnley.

Head coach Willie Peters said he woudl be assessing the footage of the incident, with Litten now unable to play against Catalans Dragons next week.

“Jez is busted up, so we’ll have to have a look at that. The feedback that I got wasn’t great on what an opposition player had done,” Peters said.

“I don’t know, we’ll need to have a look at it. I’m not sure what Jez was sent for 10 for, but I do know that my player is busted up, so something has gone on there. He’s failed his HIA.

“Once that happens, our job is to look at making sure players are out there. I didn’t look at any screens. But I just know Jez is busted up and failed a HIA for a reason, and we need to have a look at that. It needs to be looked at.”
