They are instantly recognisable at supermarkets across the nation and now Timpson has taken delivery of its 500th retail “pod”, courtesy of an East Yorkshire manufacturer.
The key-cutting, watch and shoe repairs business has a partnership with Premier Modular, based at Brandesburton, near Driffield, that spans 14 years. Premier is the sole supplier of the kiosks to Timpson and, although designed as a permanent solution once installed, they offer the nationally-known chain with flexibility as they can be moved around the country, as required.
David Harris, CEO of Premier Modular, said: “Providing our 500th kiosk for Timpson isn’t just a manufacturing milestone, it’s a celebration of trust and teamwork. From the very first order, our collaboration has helped to demonstrate what’s possible with modular in retail.
“We’re extremely privileged to work with such a values-led and innovative business, and to be such an integral part of their journey.” Premier has now delivered circa 8,500sq m of retail space to Timpson, equivalent to just over the size of Hull City ’s football pitch.
The purpose-built kiosks are fitted with specialist equipment for key cutting, shoe repairs and dry-cleaning drop offs. Premier played a vital role in helping Timpson create the design, build the prototype and subsequent units, and project-manage the installations.

The partnering companies have marked a number of milestones together, including the opening of Timpson’s 1,000th store and Premier being awarded Timpson’s supplier of the year. In other recent news, Premier has been reappointed as a supplier on a leading national healthcare procurement framework, the NHS Shared Business Services Modular Buildings 3 Framework Agreement until 2029.
First established in 1956, Premier is one of the UK’s leading offsite construction and modular building specialists. The company provides permanent and temporary solutions to organisations in multiple sectors including healthcare, education, commercial and industrial, and infrastructure.
Committed to becoming carbon zero by 2035, Premier minimises its impact on the environment by using sustainably procured materials, sending zero waste to landfill and incorporating renewable energy technologies into its buildings where possible. The modular specialist forms part of Premier Modular Group, alongside sister companies Net Zero Buildings and Net Zero Panels.
