Hull KR half-back Danny Richardson is set for a short-term loan to Salford Red Devils. The 28-year-old is expected to link up with Paul Rowley’s side on an initial two-week agreement.

Richardson has only made three first-team appearances for Rovers in 2025 to date, with his last from the interchange bench in the 31-12 win over Warrington Wolves at Sewell Group Craven Park in Round 12.

He made his first back in February in the dominant 42-0 win over Salford in Round 3, starting at half-back, and again featured in the Challenge Cup fourth round triumph over Oldham.

The former St Helens youngster had a very brief loan spell with Huddersfield Giants earlier this year, but was recalled to Sewell Group Craven Park due to injuries at Hull KR, after just one appearance for Luke Robinson’s side.

For the Red Devils, captain Ryan Brierley has been featuring in the halves, while centre Esan Marsters most recently partnered the Scotland international against Hull FC. 21-year-old half-back Kai Morgan has also made 13 appearances for Salford, still under special measures, but was forced off against St Helens in Round 14 due to an arm injury.

Rowley also recently added Cain Robb, Dan Russell, Tom Whitehead and Kobe Rugless to his squad on loan deals. Castleford’s Robb failed a head injury assessment in Sunday’s 38-6 defeat to Hull.

Salford next face St Helens at the Totally Wicked Stadium, having faced off in just Round 14 in which Paul Wellens’ side picked up a 46-4 result, before hosting Warrington Wolves.
