Hull City have been linked with a move for winger Arbër Hoxha with new head coach Sergej Jakirovic primed to return to one of his old clubs Dinamo Zagreb to snatch his former player.
The Albanian international is reportedly among a glut of players who are set to depart Dinamo this summer as part of a shake-up after missing out on the Croatian league title to another of Jakirovic’s former clubs, Rijeka, last season.
City are among a flurry of clubs linked with a move for the 26-year-old left winger, along with Italian Serie A side Lecce, and Kayserispor, the club Jakirovic left to join the Tigers earlier this month.
Hoxha played under Jakirovic in the Croatian capital after arriving under his stewardship from Slaven Belupo, and got a taste of English football last term when he came off the bench for the final 17 minutes of their Champions League defeat at the Emirates against Arsenal.
Born in Germany, Hoxha has joint citizenship with Albania and Kosovo, and has represented both countries at a senior level, though he’s notched 15 caps for Albania since making his debut in March 2024 after switching allegiances.
Last term, he played 31 times for Zagreb, but only 13 of those came from the start, and he found the back of the net on three occasions, with three assists.
The ex-Prishtina man is under contract in Zagreb until the summer of 2027 but is thought to be available for around £1m, with the Croatian giants keen to do business for a player they signed in January 2024.
