Humberside Police’s Special Constabulary Chief Officer, John Philip, has been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours.
John, who has ‘shown consistent leadership and dedication over his 37 years of voluntary service’, has been awarded the King’s Police Medal. As the Chief Officer of the Humberside Police Special Constabulary, John has been instrumental in increasing the number of special constables and ensuring they receive significant training and development.
He also works extremely closely with local businesses and has broadened support for employees to be special constables.
Chief Constable Chris Todd said: “To have two Humberside Police colleagues recognised in the latest UK Honours List is very special.
“Special Constabulary Chief Officer, John Philip, is a very worthy recipient of the King’s Police Medal. For 37 years he has volunteered his time to protecting and serving our communities, climbing the ranks whilst also holding a full-time paid senior role outside of policing.
“John has undoubtedly raised the profile of our special constabulary, helping us to be a fully community focused and victim focused police force and I thank him greatly for his service and contribution over the last three decades.”
