A restaurant on Princes Avenue has announced its final day of opening.
Thai House took to Facebook back in May to give the sad news that it would be closing its doors for good. At the time, owners did not know when the last day would be.
The post from then reads: “It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I have to inform you that Thai House will be closing in the not so distant future, it is something I have tried to hold off for some time but unfortunately I can no longer.
“Everyone is aware of the difficulties that independent businesses are facing in the current climate with rising energy, staff, National Insurance and goods costs. Our business have become harder to run with a depleted footfall due to the impact on people personal finances the recent hikes have had.
“We don’t have a date yet but I shall post a further update when I know in a couple of weeks.
“I, and all the staff would love to see all our friends, customers old and new pop in and help us go with a bang, remembering the amazing times and memories over the last 25 years that Thai House has given us.”
In a new post, the restaurant has revealed that its last day will be Sunday, July 6. Owners expect it to be busy in the run-up so have encouraged booking ahead to avoid disappointment.
In a statement, the team at Thai House said: “We expect the last week, weekend and evening to be very busy so, if you do want to dine with us, please make sure you book. You can book via our website or google for instant confirmation – for larger bookings please send us a message so we can try and accommodate.
“Takeaways will be accepted until the very last day. Hope to see you all again soon.”
Hull Live visited Thai House back in 2022 and described it as a ‘faultless meal’. And plenty of people shared the same sentiment responding to the news on Facebook. One customer said: “Had such lovely times there over the years … thanks for the lovely food and great service.”
