Drive Taxis in Hull is rebranding as Veezu following the company’s acquisition by Veezu Group in October 2024.

The company says it marks the next step in ‘delivering smarter, more connected and consistent mobility services across the region’. Veezu operates in more than 50 locations nationwide and partners with over 16,000 driver partners.

Veezu says that its acquisition and rebrand of Drive in Hull is a strategic move that strengthens its presence in Yorkshire and the Humber and is part of a coordinated rebrand of Drive across Hull, Doncaster and York. This move gives Veezu a unified identity and service across three key cities.

The Veezu app will bring a more ‘streamlined travel experience’ and includes vehicle tracking, enhanced address search and multiple payment options such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, card and cash. Passengers will also have the ability to pre-book journeys in advance.

Veezu is aiming to support priorities to level up transport infrastructure and economic opportunities across the North. The company wants to combine cleaner vehicles with intelligent ride technology and local service to help keep Hull moving efficiently and inclusively.

Stephen Ashford, Veezu’s Regional Operations Director, said: “Bringing Drive Taxis under the Veezu name is a key step in delivering smarter, more seamless service for Hull. We’re investing in the latest technology, improving access to transport across Hull, and staying true to our commitment to local support through local investment and partnerships. With trusted driver-partners and a service you can count on, we’re here to keep Hull moving.”
