Shocking court cases heard during May include that of a sex-obsessed man and his smiling girlfriend who used a terrified woman as a “toy” and a “rag doll” during a callous rape where she was powerless to fight back.
Two other rapists jailed during the month, after being convicted in each case by a jury, were given prison terms of 15 years and 12 years. Another sex offender was jailed after intimately touching a sleeping woman after a drinking session.
A prolific offender with a long history of crime branded himself a “scumbag” shortly before he started yet another prison sentence. The riots that brought shame to Hull city centre in August last year continue to feature in court cases and three more troublemakers were jailed during May.
Other criminals jailed included a heavy-drinking bully who knocked a woman to the floor, strangled her and hit her with a metal crutch. There was also a violent ex-boyfriend who left a woman with two black eyes after pulling her out of bed, as well as a serial burglar and the case of an internet pervert who repeatedly exchanged explicit pictures with decoy young girls, despite a previous warning.
These are some of the criminals who have been jailed at Hull Crown Court and Grimsby Crown Court in recent weeks.
