Hull City midfielder Steven Alzate is a target for clubs abroad as the Tigers face what will be another busy summer in preparation for the new campaign.
Alzate caught the eye at times in the heart of City‘s midfield in what was a struggling side throughout the Championship season, playing 28 times and becoming a popular figure on the MKM Stadium terraces with some classy displays.
All bar three of those outings came under Ruben Selles, who often deployed the Colombian as his first-choice midfield operator. But the 26-year-old struggled with injury and, in the final month of the season, he was rested in games against Swansea and Derby County owing to his fitness. He had to come off the bench in place of Regan Slater who limped out of the defeat to the Rams early on.
City are aware of interest in the 26-year-old both in England and abroad, with La Liga duo Valencia and Getafe thought to be keen on trying to strike a deal.
Alzate penned a two-year contract at the MKM Stadium when he arrived in September last year so City will look to command a seven-figure fee for the player who has played seven times for the Colombian national team.
The Tigers know they need to free up funds to be able to strengthen their squad this summer to ensure they do not have another season of struggle and Alzate could be a player sacrificed, while Gustavo Puerta could also be moved on despite seeing a permanent move activated last month.
