Hull FC produced a Magic Weekend shocker with Huddersfield Giants running out 12-10 winners at St James’ Park. Liam Knight was sent off for a high tackle on the stroke of half-time, with Sam Eseh also sin-binned in a display dominated by poor discipline. Here are the ratings.

Will Pryce – Needed to do better to stop Cudjoe for his try. Tackle wasn’t strong enough. Also made a couple of key errors in defence and struggled to influence in attack. 3

Harvey Barron – Left the field in the first half with a hip injury. N/A

Jordan Rapana – Did some good plays; a couple of important takes from kicks spring to mind but was also erratic at times. 4

Davy Litten – Hull’s best player on the day. A threat with the ball and in the air. 7

Lewis Martin – Finished well in the corner for his try. Worked hard. 5

Cade Cust – Tried his best and ran the ball strong. Was denied a try in the first half after a brilliant tackle from Huddersfield full-back George Flanagan. Also produced a try saver on Adam Swift. 5

Aidan Sezer – A few defensive plays were his highlights. Attack was clunky, to say the least, but Sezer really put himself about. 6

Herman Ese’ese – Scored Hull’s first try and was their strongest runner as always. Passed an HIA in the first half. 6

Amir Bourouh – Worked hard and got through plenty of defence. 5

Liam Knight – His red card for a high tackle on the stroke of half-time gave Hull a mountain to climb. 2

Zak Hardaker – Honest performance as always. There are a few players who should take a leaf from his book. 5

Ed Chamberlain – Tried his best in the back row. 4

John Asiata – Not his best display as Hull struggled to get going. 4

Yusuf Aydin – Limited minutes off the bench. N/A

Jack Ashworth – Threw himself about. 4

Sam Eseh – Sin binned for a high hit. 4

Tom Briscoe – Came on the right wing after Barron’s injury. Did okay. 5
