Hull KR have confirmed that young centre Connor Barley has joined Championship outfit London Broncos on a one-month loan deal.
The 20-year-old heads to the capital with a chance to gain further valuable first-team experience, following a previous loan spell with Featherstone Rovers in the second-tier division. He scored three tries in 10 appearances across stints in 2024 and this year, while he also represented York Knights on loan in 2023.
He joins Rovers team-mates Lennie Ellis and Louix Gorman, who made the move to London Broncos earlier this season as part of the clubs’ dual-registration partnership.
Barley made a try-scoring Super League debut for Hull KR in 2022 against St Helens, aged just 17. He made a further three appearances for the first-team, including wins over Wigan and Hull FC. He has not featured since Round 21 of the 2023 campaign.
He did however play in the club’s pre-season Amsterdam Challenge against York in January, alongside the likes of Jack Broadbent, Lee Kershaw, Danny Richardson, Eribe Doro, Bill Leyland, Jack Brown and Kelepi Tanginoa.
Mike Eccles’ side, who currently sit 12th on the Betfred Championship table with two wins from nine, take on Doncaster in this Sunday.
Meanwhile, Barley – nephew of former Rovers half-back Paul Cooke – remains off-contract at the end of the current campaign. The Hull-born youngster, previously named the Ged Dunn award winner in his final year in the club’s academy back in 2023, signed a 12-month extension ahead of the 2025 season.
