A Dog Walk of Pride is being held this weekend to mark the start of Pride Month in Beverley.
Hosted by the town’s award-winning dog shop, Oh My Dog, the event is open to everyone to “join paws and celebrate love, pride, and community”.
The dog walk begins at 4pm on Sunday, June 1, from Oh My Dog, in Dyer Lane, and participants will wind their way through some of the town’s most iconic spots.
There is no entry fee, though those taking part are encouraged to give a donation as the event is a fundraiser for Beverley Pride, which is taking place later this summer on Sunday, August 16 at Flemingate.

Attendees can expect a “tail-wagging good time” with community, colour, and celebration “at the heart of it all”. It is open to everyone, with the invite explaining: “Whether you’re LGBTQ+, an ally, a dog-lover, or just want to take part in something joyful and meaningful—this walk is for you.”
The route is just over two miles long and is expected to take just under an hour at a steady pace. Sites will include Beverley Minster, Love Lane, Beverley Westwood, North Bar, and Market Cross.
Lucy Thompson, owner of Oh My Dog, said: “Pride is about visibility, love, and creating a safe space for everyone—and that includes our furry friends too!
“We believe in an inclusive Beverley where everyone feels celebrated, and this walk is our way of kicking off Pride Month with wagging tails and open hearts.”
Pride attire such as rainbows is “obviously very much encouraged” but not essential, the event details explain. A professional photographer, Molly-Rae Photography, will be at the event to capture all the “pawsome pride vibes and canine couture”.
At the dog walk, everyone is “welcome to strut their stuff, whether in full rainbow glam or just with a wagging tail and a proud heart”.
