Two men have been charged after a cannabis grow worth almost £180,000 was uncovered in Hull.

Officers from Humberside Police’s Kinetic Intervention Team executed a warrant at a premises in Morpeth Street, off Spring Bank, on Tuesday (May 20). Inside, they discovered a cannabis grow police say was worth “an estimated £178,200” along with around £2,500 in cash.

Renaldas Grigaliunas, 42, of Morpeth Street, Hull, has been charged with cultivation of a class B drug, possession of a controlled class A drug and abstracting electricity without authority.

He was remanded into custody to appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday, May 21).

Zygimantas Zilionis, 28, of Morpeth Street, has been charged with possession of a controlled class A drug.

He was released on bail to appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 6.

A 55-year-old man was also arrested at the scene but has since been released with no further action.
