Leeds Rhinos half-back Jake Connor has received one penalty point for an incident during Friday’s Super League match against Hull FC.
Connor was handed a ‘Grade A Attempted Strike’ charge by the RFL’s Match Review Panel – the charge being the first of the season for the 30-year-old. He has received the solitary point but is free to play for Leeds against Castleford Tigers this weekend.
It is unclear what incident brought the charge, but both Tom Briscoe and Zak Hardaker complained to the match officials after it appeared that Connor moved towards the forehead of Briscoe in the first-half.
The incident happened after the Hull duo were working their way off Connor after tackling the player – who was clearly frustrated with the time taken. However, the officials weren’t interested in the complaints and played on. Hull Live has asked the RFL for clarification.
No Hull FC players have been charged for any offences ahead of Thursday’s game at Leigh Leopards.
