Ryan Hall’s 79th-minute try was enough for Leeds Rhinos to edge past Hull FC on Friday night. The Black and Whites led for the majority of the game, only trailing when the veteran winger crossed over with 90 or so seconds to go. Here are the ratings.
Will Pryce – A neat try assist for Martin from a scrum play. Was also safe under the high ball. 6
Harvey Barron – Finished his try well and carried hard against a tough opponent. 6
Jordan Rapana – Left the field on a stretcher after ten minutes. He was out cold but thankfully regained consciousness later on. N/A
Davy Litten – The young back had some moments. Some strong carries and a real threat in the air. He’s still fresh in the centre, catch and passes will come, while defensively he scrambled hard. 6
Lewis Martin – Finished his try well and tried his best to carry against a tough side. 6
Cade Cust – Ran the ball strong and looked to poke his nose through. An enthusiastic display. 7
Aidan Sezer – Led the side well. Kicks were a threat throughout, and his running game was good. 7
Herman Ese’ese – A physical game, and Ese’ese was at the heart of it. Strong carries and defensive workload. 7
Amir Bourouh – Massive defensive effort as always. Tidy with the ball. Running game limited, but that’s down to the minutes he’s playing. His effort and tenacity are infectious. 7
Liam Knight – Carried strong and came up with a big effort in defence. Leeds were physical as expected; they have some huge middles, but Knight, who has had an encouraging start to his Hull career, really stood up to them. 8
Zak Hardaker – Played in the back row again and gave it absolutely everything. Some huge defensive plays. 7
Ed Chamberlain – A gritty account from Chamberlain. He did it tough in the back row and never backed down. 6
John Asiata – Linked well as always into Hull’s attack. One try assist for Barron. 7
Jack Ashworth – Plenty of heart and emotion in his display. Gives it everything. One crucial error was punished just before half-time. However, he made up for it with a defensive effort, pushing Leeds back over their try line, that led to Hull points. 6
Tom Briscoe – A solid enough showing from Briscoe, who was thrown on early after Rapana’s injury. 6
Sam Eseh – The prop’s best display for the club. He came on and had a big impact. Carried strong. Scored a try. Defended well. 8
Brad Fash – Returning to the side, the forward had limited minutes on the field. 5
