A “world first” high ropes course in Hull that weaves above a karting track has arrived.

The distinctive 20-pole course at Hull Adventure Centre, in Poorhouse Lane off Preston Road, offers a unique experience as participants navigate challenging obstacles in the air with the added excitement of karts speeding along beneath them.

Adventurers can also look forward to an epic grand finale with a 100m zip line at the east Hull multi-activity venue.

Meanwhile, the centre has added team-building features such as a Jacob’s Ladder and crate stack, allowing it to cater to groups from schools and youth organisations to the voluntary sector and corporate teams.

Bookings for all the new features start from Friday, May 16.

John Haines, manager at Hull Adventure Centre, said: “This is fantastic that we’re able to welcome bookings for the new high ropes course.

“In just over a year, we’ve significantly expanded our offering to provide a wide range of activities to suit everyone, from youth sectors, voluntary organisations and businesses.

“With half-term approaching, it’s a great way to spend have some family fun and we look forward to welcoming everyone.”

High-Low Ropes Course Consulting Ltd was tasked with bringing the ambitious project to life.

Director, Ali Glendinning, said: “This track is completely bespoke to not just Hull, but anywhere in the world.

“There is no other high ropes facility which is suspended over a karting track in the world, so to design it around the track layout was a unique challenge.”

Hull Adventure Centre rebranded in March 2024 and introduced bubble ball football, tag archery and dodgeball as it marked two decades of Hull Karting.
