Here’s a run down of some of the latest planning applications that are currently being decided on by Hull City Council which include an application for the construction of a new building at a Hull school.
New school building
The council has received an application for the erection of a small, single storey building for Ganton Secondary School. If the application is successful, the school on Anlaby Park Road South would receive a new building capable of providing new classrooms for up to twenty five students. It would be built to the South of the existing, much larger, co-located Sirius Academy West building.
New end of terrace house
The council has also received an application for the construction of a new end of terrace house on Campion Avenue. The house would be attached to the existing end of terrace, number 72 Campion Avenue. The house would be built in what is currently the side-garden of number 72, in a piece of land that separates the property from number 74. Planning documents submitted to the council state the house would be a two-storey, 2-bedroom property. The proposals also state that the new house would match number 72 aesthetically, with matching brickwork, windows, doors, and roof tiles.
Staples building update

Hull City Council has itself submitted an application to use the former Staples building on Myton Street for the storage of ‘highway materials.’ The council has confirmed that the application is in connection with the enhancement works ongoing on Humber Dock Street. The application proposes that the former Staples building and the surrounding land, both of which the council own, is to be used to store the materials needed to complete the project which is planned to be finalised in October.
