Hull City Council have approved plans to turn a Hull church into a snooker hall.
In January the council’s planning team received an application for the change of use of the Potter’s House Church from a place of worship to a new pool and snooker hall. The church is located at 99 Alexandra Road, close to the junction with Newland Avenue.. Hull Live previously reported the submission of the planning application which has now received the green light from the council.
Prior to its use as a place of worship, the property was in fact a snooker hall. The Monica Snooker Hall was a members only snooker club that used the property prior to its closure in 2020.
The designs submitted to the council show the return of the Monica Club signage on the front of the building. Documents submitted show it would be backlit.

The council’s approval of the proposals have come with a number of conditions that the developers will have to follow for example:
- The snooker hall shall not commence until cycle parking facilities have been provided as is detailed in proposals submitted to the council
- Work on the site must commence within three years of the approval date (May 1, 2025)
