
A 50-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and is accused of a number of other offences following a collision in Hull.
Police were called to Chanterlands Avenue just before 7.30am on Wednesday (May 7) following reports a woman had been hit by a silver Volkswagen Polo close to the junction of Lynton Avenue. Yesterday, Humberside Police said the woman had been taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
A man has now been charged with attempted murder, driving while disqualified, use of a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third-party insurance, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and harassment.
Laurance Worvill, of Spring Bank, Hull, was remanded into custody to appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday, May 8).
Following the incident, police made an appeal for “any information that may assist with our enquiries, including dashcam or CCTV footage”. Anyone able to assist is asked to call the non-emergency number 101 quoting log 73 of 7 May.
