
East Yorkshire Buses has launched a “full internal investigation” after one of their buses caused “significant disruption” to traffic in Hull this morning.
Shortly after 9am today, an East Yorkshire bus mounted a roundabout on Queens Road, bringing traffic to a halt as a result.
A photograph taken at the scene shows the bus mounting the roundabout at the junction of Queens Road and Princes Avenue.
A spokesperson for East Yorkshire Buses told Hull Live in a statement the company is working to resolve the situation “as quickly and safely as possible” and are “extremely sorry” for the inconvenience caused.
The full statement reads: “East Yorkshire Buses is aware of an incident involving one of our vehicles earlier today in the Hull area, which has unfortunately caused significant disruption to traffic and local bus services.
“We would like to offer our sincere apologies to all those affected, particularly our customers and other road users. We understand how frustrating unexpected disruption can be, and we are extremely sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

“Our teams responded promptly and are working to resolve the situation as quickly and safely as possible. A full internal investigation is now underway to understand what happened and to ensure appropriate steps are taken to help prevent this type of incident occurring in the future.
